Welcome to the official site of the Elk Grove Piranhas. The Piranhas have been providing a positive swimming experience for our swimmers and families for over 40 years. We swim at the Barbara Morse Wackford Aquatic Complex under the direction of Head Coaches,
Shannon Grottkau, Brenda Smart and Dee Duenas. Our coaches work enthusiastically to help our swimmers improve their technique and develop the physical strength, stamina, and coordination necessary to reach their swimming goals. But the Piranhas experience encompasses more than just swimming. By working and playing together throughout the season, our swimmers learn the value of teamwork, develop a sense of camaraderie, make new friends, and just have fun!
And it's not just the swimmers who get to have fun. The Piranhas are a non-profit organization run entirely by parent volunteers. From timing swimming events, to helping set-up or take-down meets, to volunteering for a Board position, there is a way for everyone to take part in the teamwork. Through the dedication of families like you, we are able to coordinate 200-250 swimmers for a season of exhibition and league meets, special events, and championships. So don't be afraid to dive in!
If you’re new to the Piranhas, start by clicking on the Parents Page link at left. There you will find helpful information about the family/team working relationship. Then check out Our Coaches and meet our dedicated coaching staff! If you think the Piranhas might be a good fit for your swimmer and your family, go to the Registration page and download the forms necessary to join the team. If you need more information at any time, click on Contact & Comments to get help from one of our Board members.
The Piranhas truly are a family affair. Come and join us. We look forward to meeting you!
