Hi! I am Coach Dee. I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, but have been living in Elk Grove since 1989. I am a teacher and a swim coach. I have been involved with swimming since I was 9 years old. I swam four years of high school, and also ran track and cross country. I still participate and swim in Masters’ Swimming. I have been fortunate to be able to coach swimming for the past 11 years. I was an assistant coach with the Laguna Creek Gators for 10 years. I just finished my first year as an assistant coach with Franklin High School, in the Elk Grove Unified School District.
My ‘other job’ is a 6th grade teacher at Foulks Ranch Elementary School in the Elk Grove Unified School District. I have been teaching elementary school for over 20 years. I have a Master’s in Special Education for the Learning Challenged, from CSUS, Sacramento.
I have a husband of 20 years, Oscar, and a cat, Mee-Ha.
I love the sport of swimming. I love coaching swimmers to help them become better swimmers. It is great to watch swimmers learn the new strokes and techniques to improve their swimming. I also hope the swimmers will gain a love for the sport of swimming. I love to get into the pool and swim.
I am excited to be able to work with the swim team, the Elk Grove Piranhas.
