Last Minute Champs Notes*
Parking: THERE IS A $6 PARKING FEE EACH DAY. Please bring exact change to speed up the entry process.
Volunteers: Although we are the largest team in the league, we still have volunteer spots that need to be filled. Our Volunteer Coordinator, Dee Moretti, will have a table set-up in our team area and we will need to get ALL of these positions filled.
Communicating: Please bring Walkie Talkies if you have them. Our team area is a distance from the pool, so, hearing will be difficult. Coaches and parents having Walkie Talkies will ensure Team Parents, parents and swimmers are aware of what events are coming up.

Evening Swim Practice Pick-up*
CSD has requested the following:
The 7:00pm hour is a very busy hour at the aquatic complex with swim practice ending, swim lessons on-going, and lap swim/water aerobics beginning. With limited parking and very limited driveway access for pick-up and drop-off, the parking lot becomes a huge problem that extends onto Bruceville Road. We would simply ask that parents picking their children up not park at the curb and wait but move further down the parking lot, park, and come and pick up their children.
As a reminder, stopping or waiting in your car in a red zone is a vehicle violation and can be ticketed. We have seen both EG Police and Sacramento County Sheriff ticket vehicles with the driver inside.
Let’s be a good community partner and work to accommodate the heavy traffic at the evening pick-up.

There will be a Family Relay...see the sign-ups on the white board at the pool. The relay will be an 8 X 25 relay...and your stroke/leg will be a surprise. So mix and match with other families to complete your relay.

A Memo from Coach Brenda for Saturday's Johnson Ranch Meet*
Directions are on the Meet Information page, Event Directions link and also in the Piranha Press.
Check in is at 6:30am and swimmers not checked in by 7:15am will be scratched from the meet (get phone numbers of other swimmers in case you are running behind).
The weather is predicted to be only in the 60's, with a chance of rain.
We will still be swimming.
Bring warm clothing, extra towels, sleeping bags, etc. to stay warm.
Pop-ups will help keep everyone dry.
Bring plastic tarps to lie on the wet ground.
Because of the cooler weather warm-ups will run differently.
6U will do a dry land warm-up from 7:35-7:45am
7-8's will do a dry land warm-up from 7:45-7:55am
9-10B and 11-12G will warm up in the pool from 7:35-7:45am
9-10G and 11-12B will warm up in the pool from 7:45-7:55am
13 and older will warm up in the pool from 7:55-8:05am
Both teams are large; therefore, the meet may run longer.
In addition, we will be doing flyover starts for all age groups 9 and older.
Flyover starts are where the swimmers finish their race and stay in the water while the next heat starts their race - then they get out.
Remember to have good sportsmanship and congratulate the swimmers on either side of you by shaking their hands.
Breakfast and lunch food items will be for sale at the Johnson Ranch snack bar.
If interested in participating in the College Greens Invitational on Sunday, May 23rd they still have room.
Swimmers can show-up to pre-register the morning of by 7:30am.
Forms can be printed out from our Meet Information page, under the event in the Season Schedule.

Practice Memos*
Practice Memo to Parents: We have scheduled the times for the age groups according to lane space availability and based on the sizes of each age group. We realize work schedules, other athletics, music, and school conflicts will arise and prevent your child from attending their specific workout time. However, showing up at a different practice time impacts other age groups and in some cases creates severe overcrowding. Please keep the switching of your practice times to a minimum and speak with a coach first before assuming it is OK to make the change. Remember, we are a large team and have 330 athlete schedules we are working with.
Practice Schedule: Now through Friday, May 14 any 9/10's with siblings in the 5-5:45pm practice, may attend 5-5:45pm. Or, any that have attended so far this week may continue to do so.
Any 13-14 boys interested in attending the 7:30-8:30pm workout may do so to help alleviate the crowding at the 6:30-7:30pm workout.
May 6 , 2010

The different schedules are due to the High School swim teams winding down their seasons, so we take advantage of the extra pool space. June and July schedules should be the same for both months. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.
